Reusables
From the collection, about 65% of unwanted home textiles and clothes deemed good enough to be sold at second-hand stores where they get to spark joy in a new owner’s life.
Recyclables
The remaining 35% of the textiles are reexamined so they can be recycled. About 15% of them are badly damaged cotton or cotton-mix fabrics that can be cut into cleaning cloths.
About 15% of the reexamined textiles, usually wool, are recycled to produce new textiles for home and fashion or shredded to be used as raw insulating materials.
Thermal Recovery
Only 5% of the collected items are considered textile waste which is appropriately sorted and supplied for thermal recovery.
