Our homes are opening to embrace the outdoors. One of the strongest proponents of spring, Kristina Lindhe, is excited to make the most out of the season and shares how she does it.
“I love planning a gorgeous table setting. It is something of an art,” says Kristina who loves to take advantage of nature by setting a lovely meal for her family in her backyard or balcony.
“You can never go wrong with denim napkins, by the way. They add a personal touch to every table.”
But Kristina’s embrace of the spring light goes beyond her backyard and into her home. By switching up her fall throws, pillows and bedding, Kristina upgrades her home in a jiffy.
“Changing items every season is the easiest way to get a new look at home, without replacing furniture,” Kristina says. “You just put the old ones aside for a while. It’s sustainable and smart!”
This spring, Kristina suggests switching up the textiles to a color palette that goes from a soft beige to a crispy gray, cool blue and flirty pink. To get you started with those colors, Kristina shares with us some of her spring favorites:
Tencel is one of Kristina’s favorite beddings “because it feels cool, light and airy” she says. “I love to crawl into a bed that has that feeling. This bedding is made of a mixture of Tencel and cotton, which makes it an extra good choice.” For the uninitiated, Tencel is a wood fiber that requires less water than cotton in production and is therefore a good, sustainable alternative.

“I love setting tables and can plan table settings well in advance,” Kristina says. “Our printed floral tablecloth feels just right this season. The colors are fine-tuned, so you get a calm and harmonious expression overall, which is important to me.”
“Combine the tablecloth with denim napkins. The blue denim together with the floral tablecloth adds an immediate character and personality to the table,” Kristina says. “You can never go wrong with denim napkins, by the way. They add a personal touch to every table.”
