It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Holiday season is magical. It’s a time to embrace traditions, old and new, and give in to all musts and just relax and keep things simple.
We got the chance to ask Creative Director Kristina Lindhe how she feels about the Holiday season and what she plans to do this year.
What is your favorite thing about the Holiday Season?
My favorite thing about the Holiday season, without a doubt, is the fact that I get the chance to gather my family. When you have all the members scattered across the world, like I do, every opportunity that appears for us to get together easily turns into your favorite times. I also make the Holidays a time where I leave my calendar mostly blank. To wake up to a new day without having an agenda never happens to me.
When do you start with Holiday decorations around your house and how do you decorate?
Normally, we start in the beginning of December. We decorate with lighting outside; the collection seems to expand with something new every year. For the interiors, I mostly decorate with candles and white fresh flowers. We put fir garlands above the windows and, of course, a Christmas tree, decorated in the same color theme as the rest of the house.
What is your favorite Holiday memory?
One of my favorite memories is from when the kids were little. They got cross country skis for Christmas and immediately started to try them on inside on our newly painted floor. It wasn't that fun at the moment, but a favorite memory for all of us now.
How will you celebrate the Holidays this year?
At home. I travel quite much throughout the year, and work a lot, so to just be at home is kind of the best Christmas gift for me.
Do you have any family traditions you wouldn’t want to be without?
We have a tradition of giving all family members books on the morning of Christmas Eve. We all love that! Then of course, the turkey for Christmas Day is very important!
Which is your favorite Christmas carol?
I love them all! Every Christmas I try to play Christmas carols on our piano. The problem is that I never really practice during the rest of the year, so I guess I am the only one in the family who really appreciate that tradition….
What is the worst Holiday gift you have ever received?
Actually, I have never received anything I didn’t like. I would hate to get something practical for the household, but I have a very caring husband and inventive children, so that will probably never happen.
What’s on your wish list for Christmas this year?
Peace and quiet, time to relax and wonderful company with my family. And maybe a little surprise?
Quick Q & A:
Eggnog or hot cocoa?
Colored lights or white?
Mistletoe or not?
Real or artificial Christmas tree?
Christmas cards by mail or e-mail?
Unfortunately, none. I wish I could be better on such things….
